This Institute was started in the year 2015 vide notification no. EDN(TE)A(1)13/2013 dated 18/08/2015 by the Government of Himachal Pradesh, Department of Technical Education, Vocational & Industrial Training, with the aim to provide vocational training to large number of   rural  women folk of Bharari Sub – Division of Bharari District Bilaspur HP.

Initially the Institution was started with Two Trades Draughtsman Civil & Sewing Technology, in a rented building namely Govt. ITI (Women) Bharari. The new trade namely Driver-Cum-Mechanic has been started in this institute from the session 2016-17 vide Government of HP, Technical Education Vocational & Industrial Training Department Notification No EDN(TE)A(1)13/2013, dated 01/06/2016.

The name of Govt. Industrial Training Institute (Women) Bharari has been re-notified as Govt. Industrial Training Institute Bharari (Co-Education) by the H.P Govt. on July 2021, with the aim; better opportunity for Technical skill up-gradation can be given to the youth along with the women trainees. All The courses/Trades are affiliated with National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), through the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Government of India New Delhi.
